Students can choose to do 2 or 4 days
Frances will be showing us how to make her fantastic books using transfer dyes, pelmet vilene, acrylic wax, hand colouring and more during the first 2 days.
On the second 2 days we will have time to make a good start, even finish, the inside of our book, something we have not had time to do before during her courses. This can include the use of photos, flowers, leaves, poems, drawings, whatever you wish. Stitching can be done by hand or machine.
If students only wish to do 2 days, Frances will repeat the bookmaking on the 14 - 15 June, or you can work on books you have made with her before. You can see more of Frances' work at - http://www.frannyp.co.uk

Look out for old hinges, small, perhaps for dolls houses. The hinges can be distressed; brads can be coloured and added as a decorative feature.
Isobel has four textile books in print, and is hoping her new book will be out during 2012.
Do look up her work on line.
Design your own doll with Patti Culea
October 5 - 7 Friday, Saturday and Sunday 10am to 4pm Fee £140
This is an exciting new course which will be of interest to anyone interested in making 3D objects. During the course we will make a doll of the size and shape they wish. We will start by making a 3D template/model in artists clay, over a wire armature and aluminium foil. Patti will show us how to mark this for the seams, darts, gusset, etc. We will mould paper over the clay, matching the marks.
Once dry a paper pattern will be made ready for cutting out your fabric.
During the class you will learn sculpting techniques, pattern drafting and cloth manipulation.
I believe this course will be of interest to any artist or doll maker that wishes to sculp their own original designs. The technique will be equally useful for other creative shapes, such as animals, etc, although it will be doll based on the course.
This is a 3 day course due to the time need to dry the clay and to cover all of the techniques required.
